Weekend Workshops

Includes FREE tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day!

A quote from one of our all-day students - "Today was amazing I never thought I would be able to salsa, but with the tuition from Julia and Steve, I have come away from today with a love for salsa, and feeling confident I can achieve more. I also met some great people today, thank you."

We often hear from people who would like learn how to dance salsa or bachata but are not available when we hold our evening classes during the week. This can be for many reasons:

  • Work commitments
  • Childcare
  • Location is too far away on nights that they are free

Or, they may have other requirements:

  • A desire to learn more in one condensed session
  • A preference to start with others in the same boat
  • To learn some salsa dance steps prior to a Cuban holiday
  • To catch up a friend who has told them how great salsa dancing is!

For 2017 Sweet Salsa are continuing wirth our popular one-day intensive salsa beginner classes. These will take place on Saturdays at venues in the North West area - dates and venues will be posted here on this website and on our Facebook page.

Course Summary Salsa

The full day beginner workshop starts at 10.30am and runs through until 4.00pm with a break of 30 minutes for lunch at 1.00pm. Students will cover the same amount of steps and learning as our existing six-week beginners courses that we hold alongside our regular classes throughout the year. We start with basic steps into partner holds, leading and following techniques and the responsibilities of leaders and followers. We then cover some of the basic partner moves, concentrating on those steps that are the basis for more elaborate moves that you will see on a social dancefloor. There will also be time for practice at regular intervals through the day.
